This is Our Daddio- virtually un-recognizable eh...
Well things are a lot better than I expected, its hot but the humidity in missippi was worse. The food is good, we had rice and beans for lunch 2 days so far but it was really good, otherwise we have had eggs, hamburgers, chicken, beef stew (it was good but I wouldn't have requested it for lunch on a 100+ degree work day). The facility is pretty incredible, they even have toilets that go WHOOOOSH, you would like it.
So far we have the footings complete and the slab 1/3, we should complete the slab and start the walls tomorrow. My jobs have been ditch digger and concrete mixer. We have 4 of the locals workings with us and they are good guys. They are between 17 and 19. They have only been speaking english for 3 months but you can carry on a full conversation with them. One of there names is Marco and he kept making fun of me today, every time he would see me he would giggle and say ha ha you dirty man, because I was caked with concrete from head to toe. I have had to throw most of my clothes away so far, the trunks were a good idea because every day when we come up for lunch i take my shirt off and hit the shower to stay cool, my trunks dry off in about 3 minutes but its nice to be able to cool off and do a quick clean.
Thank you for sending me the stories, don't take this the wrong way, but I didn't realize how much I missed you guys until I read your emails. It kind of made me see things like Cole does, I always look forward to the big stuff but after reading all that, I wish I was there for the everyday normal things. Please give Cole a hug for me and tell him I am proud of him. I can't believe he said the fruit i bought him was the fruit of the spirit, tell him i agree with him, I have a hard time with the patience one too and I don't help him by being an example on that one. I finally pulled out my card and pictures today, they turned out great, I can't wait to put them on the wall at my office, thank you for doing that.
I am glad I came because it is awesome to see how many people the ministry here is affecting, even if we are only doing a small part of it, Samaritans Purse is doing some awesome stuff here. They have 400 Haitians employed and they are building 7500 homes. they basically build the floor, walls, and roof here, truck it out, and set it up somewhere, I don't know how they determine who gets it. Besides us here, there was a medical team the first 2 days too, they would go out to the tent camps and do clinics.
Tell Cole that I am currently having one of those moments on my ipod. As I am writing this, that clint black christmas song about milk and cookies just started and now all I can think about is him at christmas time saying will you put that christmas song on about the toys. i miss my boys and their mommy. I can't wait to see you guys. Tell Cole I am sorry and i will try to get some pictures for you guys tomorrow. I haven't taken any since we got here because I have been busy, Daddio doesn't want to be another "queen bee".
I love you guys x3
