I cannot even believe that Daddy's day is just around the bend. It has been a bit of a whirlwind around here between my new and old endeavors, and all the work that has suddenly showed up for my hubby. These things are truly blessings . . . but then we throw into the mix that our baby bear will be here in less than 10 weeks and 3 weeks later our little bear turns four, hectic becomes and understatement! Needless to say, this super planner has some extra work on her hands because she would accept nothing less than perfect for all her boys! So this week, is final planning stages for Pappa Bear. His favorite part of the day is breakfast, so it is fitting to do a brunch for his special day. A Daddy brunch sans tea cups, flowers, and pettifours!
As for the gifts . . .Cole is finally to that age where he is quite aware of the things that make the people in his life special and unique, so he is in charge of gifts this year. After all I am a woman and father's day can sometimes throw me for a loop ;) So Cole is working on a masterpiece of a table cloth on a canvas painters drop cloth. . . and "building" a centerpiece (from things around the house) any Daddy-o would be proud of. He has picked out a card that has something to do with fishing of course . . . and he told me breakfast should be "Spicy," (so cheesy habanero sausage casserole it is)! When I asked him about Daddy's gift he smiled and replied that a Water Gun would be perfect. I replied with " You do know that if you get Daddy a water gun he will shoot you with it and get you all wet?" Cole's response was "Maybe that is a better present for me . . . I think we should stick with the Big Movies and some treats." He went on to tell me that because popcorn is Daddy's favorite and because Chase REALLY (yes the lone chocolate lover in the house has been stealing Daddy's popcorn on a regular basis) likes it too we should put some popcorn in there "definately"! Excellent . . . Daddy's day is almost ready! Except for the three other Father's in our family of course!!!! Thankfully the little man had some input there too ;) Grandpa likes to read so we should buy him books, and Pappa really needs some new shirts and I think he likes my Daddy's shirt! And Grandpa Scotty, he just likes cookies or something for his banana boat.
Off I go to finish up our supreme Daddy's day extravaganza! Happy Father's Day to your favorite Dads!
